Ignace Joseph Pleyel (18 June 1757 – 14 November 1831)
Ignaz Pleyel – One of Jane Austen’s favorite composer if not the favorite. Fourteen of his sonatinas can be found in Austen’s own personal collection of sheet music.
He was an Austrian-born French composer and piano builder of the Classical period. Pupil of Joseph Haydn who considered him to be a superb student.
