Ode to Miss Bingley – Part II

Who is this country chit,

With mud in her clothes and no wit

For who would walk three miles,

Just for a sister’s wiles?

What a ridiculous figure she makes

A joke with Louisa I happily partake

Maybe we can shock Darcy enough

That he shall huff and puff!

Then in a hurry we shall leave

This way things I can better weave

Maybe to Pemberley… with noble relatives and good wine

Our destiny I can finally intertwine.

Wait. What is happening?

Why is Darcy smiling?

An indecorous behavior the girl displays

He says absolutely nothing, to my dismay.

This is not possible. It cannot be.

He pays no attention to me!

This wild woman, keep ridiculing I might

But all I hear is… about her eyes being bright!

I’m shocked! I’m all astonishment!

I’m left deprived of any comment.

I know not what to do

Keep quiet or create more ado?
